I have to appologise. I have been neglecting my blog for some time now and I am really sorry about that.
It has been a busy few months at university as I had to work on my Master Project and Master Thesis. At least this was the reason I haven't been around until middle of July.
After that my holidays started. Don't blame me! After fnishing with your Master thesis and passing your Masters exam you should be entitled to go on vacation ;).
So let me quickly summarize what happened over the last couple of days/weeks/months…
University ends & Work begins
So I graduated from university and finally got my Masters degree (MSc for those who were wondering). This means it was finally time to start working at a company, which I did. From the beginning of September 2013, I'm a proud member of the mobile agreements GmbH
team – this of course also means that the opinions expressed are solely my own and do not express the views or opinions of my employer
BlackBerry Jam Camp, Devices and Apps
Since the launch of BlackBerry 10 back in February, a lot has happened. I have been developing some apps and most of them are also available in the BlackBerry World
. Just check out my vendor account and you can find all of them. Hope you like at least some of them ;).
Because of all those apps I was able to get my hands on a BlackBerry Z10 Limited Edition device (it's red!!!). I'm using it as my main device and I just love it. Until now, it's the best operating system and device I have ever had :D
And one more thing about BlackBerry: they invited me to the Jam Camp in Madrid back in July (Madrid was really beautiful!). Of course I accepted and it was a great experience. I met a lot of nice people (including BlackBerry staff as well as fellow Jam Camp students) and started developing some more apps. The goal of the Jam Camp was to learn more about developing for BlackBerry and getting an app approved in the Built for BlackBerry program.
The reward is a BlackBerry 10 device, so I could not resist and by now, two of my apps are officially Built for BlackBerry
A1, SGS4 & LG G2
Some months ago, A1
(one of Austrias mobile operators) asked me if I was interested in testing the Samsung Galaxy S4
. Who would say no to that, so they sent me one and since then I wrote about six blog posts on A1Blog
about the device and its features. It's really nice and if it were not for some flaws (and my love for the BB Z10 ;)) I would use it as my main phone.
My lovely contact at A1 also invited me to the LG G2
launch event in Vienna, where they showed us the live stream from New York and had some phones for us to test. This device was also quite nice but way too similar to the SGS4 – except for the buttons on the back.
What was really great about this press event was, that we all got the mobile printer Pocket Photo
from LG – which I haven't used yet, but will do soonish. It prints tiny photos and I haven't found out when I would use it, but it's a nice gesture from LG to give them away for free.
Ok, that's a quick summary of what happened. I didn't want to go too much into detail so let's leave it like that. I hope that from now on I will be able to post more interesting stuff – including a lot of dev tips & tricks (already found some great ideas as I stumbled across some topics that could be useful for you Android devs!).
